17 Mar 2015 - Bristol libraries given stay of execution

People across Bristol have welcomed the Mayor's anouncement that 7 libraries scheduled for closure by Green Party Cllr Daniella Radice, will not be closed before May 2016. Though this is nothing more than a stay of execution, it does give time to find alternative ways of keeping the libraries open.

A cynic might note that this puts any library closures to after the May 2016 Mayoral election. For now, we will be working with councillors to find ways of keeping the libraries open permanently, as well as making sure that the Mayor is true to his word and does not proceed with any closures.
